Good Vibrations - Energy Healing
by K. Shane Neifert, D.C.
Vibrations are a part of every living thing. Sun light is the most common form of vibration that affects our being. Individuals suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) are those who's bodies become depressed as a result of limited sun shine in darker climates. Just as increased exposure to sunlight cures the patient with S.A.D., other types of vibrations can be effectively used in positive ways to promote healing. Plants each contain their own vibrational energy. Part of the benefit we receive from herbal remedies is from their vibrational quality. Aroma therapy, bach flower remedies, and essencial oils are effective applications of plant vibration. Homeopathy represents another use of vibration in the healing process. Homeopathic remedies contain small amounts of substances such as minerals or plants that are used to stimulating an immune response in the system. Vibrations associated with acupuncture pathways, Chakras, and even thoughts affect the energy balance in our lives.
Many have found these vibrational approaches to healing and energy balancing extremely valuable. What I have seen in my practice is that in many cases an individual's vibrations or frequencies are critically important to resoving their health issues. Some do marvelously at homeopathic remedies, while others need that special bach flower essence to resolve an emotional blockage. Essential to the use of these approaches is determining which treatment best matches the individual's specific needs. Finding the most appropriate approach is really where the practitioner earns their pay. By using experience, diagnostic methods and following intuition, the healer/practictioner may truly shorten up the process and eliminate a lot of wasted trial and error.
Energy vibrations flow throughout our bodies. It literally can be measured using several different methods. One of the fascinating methods of measuring the body's energy flow is through the use of kirlian photography. Through this special equipment a photo can be taken displaying a radiating display of energy as it comes naturally off the ends of the fingers. A number of individuals in the past decade have searched for a corrolation between health and energy production in the finger tips. I recently spoke with an engineer who manufactures kirlian photographic equipment. He commented on the dramatic energy changes that occur in patients after adjustment from a chiropractor or an acupuncture session. My own patients have confirmed the same. Once their energy balance has been addressed many who have suffered chronic illnesses make rapid strides back to health. I have been very pleased to that the average patient remains in balance for some time after a typical energy balancing session. Another method or measurement involves the testing of energy on the sing points. This involves using the points next to the finger nails for a measurement of sensitivity using an electrical sensing device. The balance from one point to the next is valuable in determining how well the overall energetic function is performing for the individual. Another method involves using reflex work and kinesiology to determine weakness and strength in individuals. This is my personal favorite and is seen by many a way to directly tap into the bodies awareness of needs. I describe this method to my patients as fuses in the body's energy fuse box that, when 'blown', point to possible areas of concern. We address the energy blockages (blown fuses) using the approach appropriate to that individual circumstance facilitating the reopening of energy pathways which allows body to heal itself more efficiently.
Because energy itself is invisible to the eye, some feel skeptical about these concepts. For these individuals a few questions which one might ask when approaching a new area such as this. "How long has this method been around?" If there isn't any value to the procedure it will generally pass from usage fairly quickly. Doctors who get paid for helping patients get well gravitate to procedures that work rapidly and effectively. In society, they don't stay in practice long if their methods don't work. Homeopathy has passed the hundred year mark and is used by numerous practitioners globally. Acupuncture and chakra balancing have been performed for centuries in the east. Their use in the western world is growing at an astounding rate. Look at the fundamental purpose of the procedure. Does it approach your own need to achieve greater health? Just because its new to you doesn't mean it doen't contain merit. An open mind is valuable when considering new procedures or methods. Ask questions. Get referrals from trusted acquaintences. When looking for a practitioner ask for recommendations from the massage therapist, acupuncturist, chiropractor, or healthfood store owner. Others in the health field generally know. If you get the same recommendations, that's a good place to start. May you find balance in your life in all areas including energy.
